We are a father-and-son law firm located  in the Kenwood area of Cincinnati whose practice is focused on consumer bankruptcy and immigration. Thomas J. Geygan, Sr.geyganSR Thomas J. Geygan, Sr. was born, raised and educated in Cincinnati, graduating from Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1960 and from the University of Cincinnati College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree in 1963. (While in law school he served as a Bankruptcy Trustee.) After graduation and admission to the Bar in 1963, he served three years in the U.S. Air Force as an attorney for the Air Force (JAG). Upon completion of his active service, he resumed practicing bankruptcy law in Cincinnati and joined the Ohio Air National Guard, where he served for an additional 21 years as a JAG, retiring in 1989 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He devotes 95% of his practice to bankruptcy law. He is a past president of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. He is admitted to practice in all Ohio courts and the United States Supreme Court.

 

Thomas J. Geygan, Jr. geyganJRThomas J. Geygan, Jr. was born on a military base in Texas, then raised and educated in the Greater Cincinnati area, graduating from Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1993. He received his Juris Doctor from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. Prior to entering Xavier University, he served in the United States Air Force as a member of Security Forces.  While in the Air Force, he was the non-commissioned officer in charge of VIP protection in Honduras, trained friendly forces in Central America and Korea, served in Desert Shield/Desert Storm, and was deployed on 9/11 in support of Operations Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom. He retired from the Ohio Air National Guard in December 2003. He divides his practice between immigration and bankruptcy law and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He is admitted to practice in all Ohio courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio and all immigration courts.
